cute way to frame some vintage books for artwork - maybe find the frames at Ikea? Ribba series?

some kind of distressed painted furniture always looks vintage to me. Could be an old small table you find at Goodwill or something… but I love the primary colors in this picture
and if you do happen to find something to paint, just buy a sample color from Lowes or Home Depot for $3. I painted the entire hutch in my kitchen with just a sample pot and saved me from having to buy more paint and spend more money than I needed.

create your own artwork using paint and scrapbooking paper either on a canvas or thin piece of wood cut from Lowes
(I don’t think the owls really go with a vintage theme, but I thought this was a good example of making your own artwork)
i absolutely LOVE this bookcase. I think this one came from Ikea and I’ve seen them go on sale before for about $80. That is a little pricey for a bookcase if you are on a budget, BUT you can use it later practically anywhere else in the house. I found this one here and you can see how she has used 3 elsewhere in her house (laundry room, and maybe the entryway?) but would work great in a playroom too. And I love the way this one has been styled, yet it is practical for quick pick up of toys with the baskets at the bottom.

love love love wire baskets and vintage books!!! you can usually find these for a couple of dollars at most antique/junk stores. same for the vintage books, but I’ve also seen the Little Golden Books at Micheals for a couple of dollars each.
another example of vintage toys (firetruck) and I like the tan stripes with the navy and red - although this may be more of a “big boy” room
simple artwork using Ikea frames and burlap. Her three boys share a bedroom and these are the first letter of each boys name. Has a great impact for very little $ for artwork (but again, maybe not sweet enough for a nursery).
Also, I saw in PB Kids that came in the mail today, some empty frames that had been backed with burlap like this. I think it was a collage of like 6 identical frames and in each frame was a cute baby clothing item like a striped sweater, shoes, etc. Super cute in the room I saw it in and took up a ton of space on a large empty wall.
